We arrived in Torbole late Saturday. Sunday morning we built the boat with expert help and tuning from Danis Paschalidis (current world champion). The boat that we've chartered has a pretty good track record - 2 Europeans wins and a Wolrd Championships.

Getting The Sails Measured
After quite a while spent trying to get the boat from car park to water we finally managed to get out for a test sail/ shakedown/spin around the lake.
The boat instantly felt a lot quicker and spritzer than our own one in Vassiliki (probably due to the boat being totally stripped down to minimum weight)
Around 15 knots from the south, very nice sailing conditions.
We turned downwind to try a run with the spinnaker, got it going, sweet, then noticed that the spi pole (an all in one custom built carbon pole and chute) started precariously bending skywards.
We took it easy back to the slipway to tension the pole bridles, upon closer inspection it turned out that we had a slot gasket hanging off the port side.
= Rest of the day spent with boat on it's side glueing new gaskets back on.
Boat should now be ready though.
(Incidentally - internet here is not the best - it makes the Wildwind beach connection appear to be some kind of cutting edge ultra high speed Japanese type technology.)
