Friday Racing - The Big Finish?

Friday morning was looking pretty good for wind but soon, cloud covered the sky and put a stop to that.
It was looking like no racing was going to take place but then just before the last possible start time a nosebleed 6 knots of wind howled down the race course (the minimum to race in) we set off and got into the zone.

The zone wasn't our friend today however. We got a decent start, mid line, tacked onto port top go to the favoured side and then spent the next half of the leg getting held up by everyone having far too much of a party on the windward leg.
The downwind legs were pretty soul destroying, watching these lightweight teams that we've been smashing all week sailing over the top of us.

All through this we were watching the boat that we had to beat creeping away up the fleet.

We finished 19th - our new discard.

We finished in 10th though overall which we're very happy with. We learn't a lot at this event. Now ready for the next one. Perhaps the UK nationals if someone will be kind enough to lend us a boat?

Again, we'd like to thank everyone who helped us to take part in this event;

  1. I take it you mean get the competitors as full as a bucket each night next year and then see who wins.
    My money is on you lads and like to think the Manchester Monkeys contributed something to your education in this sporting arena.
